Dr. Ayse Ercumen is an epidemiologist in NC State’s Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources as well as a core member of NC State’s Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) team. Her research primarily focuses on water quality, health impact assessments for WaSH projects, and pathogen transmission in water infrastructure.

Tate Rogers is the founder and principal of Triangle Environmental Health Initiative in Durham, NC. Over the past decade, he has supported research and fieldwork of novel sanitation infrastructure in several countries such as Malawi and India. He has also collaborated with many teams in sanitation technology with projects spanning the globe.

Emily Floess is a PhD student in NC State’s Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering department. She previously spent 5 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia working in education and with a water treatment nonprofit. She is currently researching energy poverty intervention and cookstove emissions.
