EWB Events


First EWB meeting of the semester:

Come out to our first meeting and hear about what our projects teams have been up to! This meeting is on January 17th in Daniels 334!

EWB 101:

Our EWB 101 meetings are a step beyond the interest meeting that really gets you acquainted with the values of our organization, what our project teams actually do, and other ways to get involved and gain non-profit experience. These will be held on January 18th (2-3pm in Daniels 334), 19th (10-11am OR 11am-12pm, both in Daniels 332), and 20th (2-3pm in Daniels 332).

Officer Elections:

Officer Elections will be held on January 24th from 7-8pm, room TBD. If you intend to run, please email president@ewbncsu.org about your intent to run.

Project Team Applications:

If you’re interested in getting involved in one of our projects, apply to one of our project teams! Now is you chance to join Sierra Leone Water, Sierra Leone Renewable Energy, or Guatemala Water Systems. Applications open the 15th of January and close the 20th of January. Don’t miss it!

Volunteering Opportunities

Hurricane Relief Bunk-Build: This Monday, January 21 (all day) (MLK Day of Service), we are heading to Washington, NC (not DC!) to help build 120 sets of bunk beds to assist regional hurricane relief efforts. See the sign-up for more info — it’ll be a great experience!

Triangle Youth Leadership Conference Workshop: Weekend of 2/8-2/9: The Triangle Youth Leadership Service has asked us to lead a workshop for an hour on one of the two days of the Conference. Stay tuned for more!

MathCounts: Saturday, February 9 (8:30am-12:30pm) at Athens Drive High School. Contact local_projects@ewbncsu.org if you’re interested in more information about volunteering at this competition!

Neal Middle School Paint Project: Saturday, February 16 (8am-1pm):  we’ll be heading to Neal Middle School in Durham to help paint / decorate some of their 6th grade classrooms! We were able to present to Neal Middle School this past fall and they were an absolute pleasure; we’re looking forward to continuing to build our relationship!

Service Raleigh: Saturday, April 13 (all day) Service Raleigh is a reoccurring event that EWB has participated for two years running! We’ve done things like help collect donated furniture and trail-clearance. Keep an eye-out for sign-ups around the end of February!
